I just recently ran a 5k and got FIRST PLACE in my age division!  I got a medal!  Mind you, I was the only person in my age category but hey, I still have a medal.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run a half marathon in 2010!

I went to boot camp this morning instead of running with the running club.  I thought it would be nice and warm at the 10:30 boot camp rather than the 20 degrees at 7:15.  Ha!  I didn't know boot camp was outside.  I was shocked and cold as I went in shorts.  It didn't take long to warm up though.

 The New Year started off right for this couponer - I got a free water aluminum water bottle and a coupon for a $65 hair cut.  That made me super happy that I went to boot camp.

 My husband decided to run today - this is his first time running since March.  He did very well on his splits, but I was secretly happy that I run at the same pace he does!

Where was this boot camp? At the gym? What did they make you do and how long was it? I desperately need a boot camp. The scale hates me after the past 2 weeks.

3 miles on the treadmill at the gym.  Running on the treadmill is not my favorite.  I just can't run as fast on the treadmill as I do when I am not in the gym.  It took me 32 minutes to run 3 miles.

p90x Core synergistics - oh my!  My muscles are weak and I definitely need to do some strength training!

I also went to get my physiograph today.  

132 lbs --> 42.9 lbs of that is fat, 42.9 lbs of that is muscle, 28.1 lbs of that is fluid

My body fat percentage is 32.5

My BMR is 1349 (this is the number of calories my body burns in a day if it remains in a rested state. It does not account for calories used in physical activity)

Back to the body fat of 42.9. The norm is 26-34. I am 12.9 pounds away from my ideal body fat.:( So yeah, I need to lose fat.

A) You do NOT need to lose 12.9 pounds.

B) There is no way that thing is accurate, somehow your body fat and muscle weights are EXACTLY the same? That screams incorrect.

C) The norm is 26-34 PERCENTAGE. Your percentage is 32.5%. So you ARE in the norm!

I was a little nervous to run today since there is still some ice, but I went anyway.  I chose sunny roads to run on and it really wasn't that bad.  My right hip really started hurting at the end, and I had to walk.

Why oh why do I keep pulling on the "STOP" button on the treadmill?  It is such a buzz kill to have all my stats erased halfway through my run.  This is the second time I have done this in two weeks.  I ran my 4 miles in 40 minutes.

After a terrific shopping trip at Kroger I took the girls to the gym and ran on the treadmill.  I ran 5 miles in 48 minutes - and didn't accidentally push the "stop" button in the middle!  I kept my pace at 6.6 for quite a while and a guy came up and ran on the treadmill next to me at the same pace.  It always feels good to run as fast as a guy!

I have a small goal - to run my run in under 9 minute miles.  I was sooooo close today - my fourth mile was 9:01.  Dang!!  My Garmin is all messed up and it wasn't keeping mileage very well....at all!  When it said my 4th mile split time my total distance was 6.42.  Sooo weird!

I ran with the running group and it was hard!  I thought I was running faster than I was, but really they slowed down for me.  There were two big hills that made me think I can't do the ING!  I'll be over it soon enough.

4.5 miles on the treadmill in 43:50.  Every day I find a new reason to detest the treadmill.  Today's reason - I keep hitting my tummy on the bar.  It sounds ridiculous and I feel dumb doing it, but I keep running so close to the handles that I bump it.  I was watching the tv up on the wall over my head today and I practically rolled off the treadmill.  I was so not impressed with myself today.  ;-)

I ran with the running group again.  It is so nice to run with other people.  My splits started good and ended terribly.  I needed new shoes terribly bad!!!  I went out that day and bought a new pair, actually.  I could feel my orthodics in them and kept scrunching my feet.  My shins and arches hurt so bad at the end.   Average pace was 10:08

 I am on antibiotics for my tooth and they are really really messing with my tummy.  I was so crampy and bloated that this run was absolutely hard.  I am supposed to run 9 tomorrow with the running group and am wondering if that is even possible. Oh my gosh.  Today was my longest run ever.  I ran with two ladies in the running group and without them I could not have done nearly as well as I did.  The last part of the tenth mile I had a great big stitch in my side.  I slowed down, and the other girls did too.  Average pace was 9:06.  I have to go get my hair cut soon, so I am going to copy and paste my garmin results.

Hi Leandrea. Are you around anymore?

I've been doing P90X for 65 straight days. I've found that if you don't do some of the moves quite right, you can hurt yourself more. But if you focus on the move and use good form, it does help strengthen the muscles.

Thanks Burt. I haven't run in a long time. I am currently getting PT twice a week and hope to start again on October 1st. Every Tuesday and Thursday I ask my therapist if October 1st if reasonable and he thinks it is. Congrats on the p90x!! I was doing Insanity before I was sidelined. Do you like your results so far?
